Sometimes Music Understands You Better Than People

Lately, I’ve been spending more time alone with my thoughts again.

And honestly?

Music became one of the few things that consistently helps quiet my mind during emotionally overwhelming days.


There are moments where it feels easier listening to songs than trying to explain emotions out loud to people.

Especially this year.

When everyone already seems emotionally tired in different ways.


I think certain voices become emotionally comforting because they quietly accompany you through difficult seasons without demanding anything from you.

They simply stay there.

Familiar.

Consistent.

Comforting.


Lately, I’ve been replaying covers more reflectively than before.

Paying attention to lyrics more.

Relating differently to songs that previously just sounded “nice” a few years ago.

And honestly?

I think adulthood changes the way music affects people emotionally too.


Some songs no longer feel like entertainment only.

They start feeling like emotional companionship.

Especially during nights where overthinking becomes overwhelming.


And honestly?

I think music became one of the safest emotional spaces for me this year.
