Some Songs Grew Older With Me

Sometimes I hear certain songs and suddenly realize:
“I’ve been listening to this for years already.”

And honestly?

That feeling always surprises me a little.

Some songs stayed with me through:

  • stressful work seasons
  • motherhood
  • healing years
  • moving homes
  • emotional breakdowns
  • rebuilding periods
  • quiet peaceful moments too

And somehow, hearing them now feels like revisiting older versions of myself.

I think music becomes deeply personal when it quietly stays through multiple chapters of your life.

Not just during exciting moments.

But during ordinary adulthood too.

Certain voices genuinely feel familiar now in the same way old memories do.

Comforting.

Safe.

Emotionally attached to different seasons of life.

And honestly?

I think that’s why music still matters to me this much even now.

Some songs really do grow older with you.

And maybe that’s what makes them special.
