I’ve always been the type to wander around places through Google Maps.
Looking at locations, checking views, imagining what it would feel like to actually be there.
But this time, we decided to go for real.
Last March 2, my friends and I planned a day trip to a place called Ten Cents to Heaven in Tanay, Rizal.
We found a package online and thought it would be a good idea to try something different for once.
I wasn’t really expecting much.
I’m not the adventurous type, and I usually prefer staying somewhere familiar. But somehow, that day felt like a good time to say yes to something new.
The place itself was quiet in a way that felt different from the usual city noise.
Open space, fresh air, and a kind of stillness that you don’t really notice until you’re already there.
It didn’t feel rushed.
There were activities available, things I normally wouldn’t try on my own. But being there with friends made it easier to just go along with it.
No pressure to be good at anything.
Just trying, laughing, and not thinking too much about it.
I think what stayed with me the most wasn’t even the activities.
It was how simple the day felt.
No overthinking.
No stress.
No need to be anywhere else.
Just being there.
There’s something about stepping out of your usual routine, even just for a day.
It doesn’t fix everything.
But it gives you a small break from everything that usually feels heavy.
Looking back, I’m glad I said yes to that trip.
It wasn’t something big or life-changing.
But it felt complete in its own way.
And sometimes, that’s enough.
